They lock the doors sapagkat sila’y natatakot. Natatakot sila, ngunit bakit sila nagtitipon? Okay! We know na natatakot sila, pero bakit sila nagtitipon dahil sa kanilang takot, sapagkat there was a prior fellowship and communion na naganap na among themselves. Kaya ganito. Dalawang motibo, they were afraid, at the same time there was a prior sense of community. So it’s both positive and negative, ang kanilang rason bakit sila nagkatipon, at dito, sa sandaling ito ay nagpakita sa kanila ang ating Panginoon.

Here, God meets us where we are. Whether it is our fear or our sense of communion. Whether it is negative or positive. God meets us where we are. No! Even our fear can be an instrument of God’s presence. Actually there are two (2) na wala doon. Si Hudas at si Tomas. Itong dalawa rito. Now, itong si Hudas. Even if we reach out, talagang may taong lumalayo at ayaw ng makipag-usap sa atin. We also have to respect their opinion. Sometimes the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. Kultura natin ‘yon sapagkat sinabi ng Panginoon. “Do not let your left hand know what the right hand is doing”. Hindi natin ina-advertise yung ginagawa natin but this is not an apology, this is just stating the reality within the church. Kaya kinakailangan ng leveling. Mag leveling tayo para malaman natin ang mga ginagawa natin in our own particular situations and gathering likes this allow us to level with each other. Si Tomas naman ay wala siya doon, but when he came… Sapagkat dapat He must bear the marks of the crucifixion. Alam po ninyo si Tomas, He is an example of a person na walang pananampalataya. The purpose of Thomas here is to show in bold relief the fact that the Risen Christ must bear the marks of the crucifixion. Sapagkat if that Risen Christ didn’t bear the marks of crucifixion, then He is an impostor. Identifying marks of Jesus, who died on the cross, so he can believe indeed the same Christ who died on the cross is also the same one who rose from the dead. And what does that mean to us Christians? That do not look for Christ, who is without wounds because that is not the genuine Christ. Ang simbahan ang kawatan ni Kristo… [na] perfect na wala man lamang gusot, wala man lamang hidyawan. May mga marks of the crucifixion, and also pertains to our lives as Christians. Do not expect perfect life, when you believe in Jesus. Because the Jesus you believing bears the mark of the crucifixion. How we carry this? The sample principle coming from the Gospel. Receive the Holy Spirit! Receive the Holy Spirit! Kayo rin ang nagsabi noon eh. This is the work of Holy Spirit. And if you look for success, don’t look [at] it in terms of the corporate categories of success. Does are not indicators of success in the church. Because if we believe that the Holy Spirit moving us we should never look for material or corporate indicators of success. Because the only indicator of success in the church is fidelity. And conversely, the only indicator of failure in the church is hindi iyong may programa, pero hindi lahat na-implement. The only real indicator of failure in the church is infidelity.’ Yong hindi tayo naging matapat sa Kanya. Because in the end the church is built by our relationship with the Lord and we measured by either fidelity or infidelity but the beautiful thing about in the church and with our relationship to God is that, while it is possible to fail. While it is possible to be unfaithful, there is never permanent failure in the church. And the only way to overcome the infidelity is forgiveness. That is why, Jesus died for us. To offer us a second chance, a third chance, a fourth chance, chance, chance, ad infinitum. At hindi pala iyan ad infinitum, actually the Lord said, “Forgive seventy (70) times seven and that also His own treatment to us. He forgive us seventy times seven, meaning, infinite. Kaya you might say, we have all the time in order to accept, to receive the mercy of God.

Kaya lang, we have all the time the second is coming but that should that be a reason for complacency. The second coming seems to be a long time, iniisip natin kaya lang yung scatological second coming na talagang end of time you might not know but individually it can be tomorrow or it could be the next second. Wag naman sana yung may bibiglang titihaya diyan ‘no? But that’s the beauty of it. We have this seemingly infinite time to try and try to be faithful. Always clinging to the mercy of God, to the power of the Holy Spirit but while you might think it’s an unlimited time, it is not. Therefore there is no room for complacency. Success is measured by fidelity, failure is in fidelity but we have every moment to try and try again because God’s heart, God’s mercy is always open for us but only for a time. Because there’s always terminous when our time is up but we really don’t know when time is up. Mabuti pa yung pagsusulit, sinasabing “Five minutes pass your paper. Finish or unfinished.”

Do not rely on any minute because it could be anytime. But the mercy of God is always there as long as God gives us time. In any case, let us be grateful to the Lord for being part of this beautiful communion. Imperfect, yes, but always in need of his mercy.

Always raise up to the level of the supernatural because this is not our work, this is the work of the Holy Spirit. Paano natin kakayanin ito? Hindi naman talaga natin kakayanin because this is the work of God.
